Daegu is the 3rd largest city in Korea with the population of 2.5 million and several hundreds of foreign English teachers working at private and public schools and there are very good communities for the teachers from abroad:

  • Starting date; on March 2nd, 2023 (required to come to Korea by mid-February for training.)
  • Address; 102, Dongdaegu-ro, Suseong-gu, Daegu
  • number of current foreign teachers; 10

  • Working hours; 9 am till 6 pm, Monday through Friday

  • monthly salary; from 2.5 million KRW, depending on the previous teaching experiences and education background etc.

  • rent free furnished single studio apartment within 10-15 min. walking distance of school (Teachers need to pay for utility bills for gas, water, electricity etc. which is around 50,000 won per month depending on how much they use.)
  • severance payequivalent of one-month salary, after completion of one-year contract
  • half of the medical insurance premium (3.5%) and national pension (4.5%) paid by the employer (Americans, Canadians, and Australians can get their pension money back with the same amount paid by their employers when they leave Korea.)
  • fewer than 12 students in each class
  • length of contract: one year (extendable yearly basis)
  • teaching hours; maximum 120 hours (1 hour = 60 min.) per month
  • all the curriculum and materials provided
